Our Story
The Legacy of Olusegun Kolade Omideyi
A Life of Service, Music, and Community
The OK Foundation is a testament to the extraordinary life of Olusegun Kolade Omideyi, a man whose passion for music, dedication to community, and unwavering faith touched countless lives. Born in Nigeria, Olusegun inherited his father's musical talent and love for sharing it with others. He brought his gift to the UK, studying at the Royal College of Church Music and making Tottenham, North London, his home.
A Vision for Tottenham
Olusegun's vision was to create a space where music could flourish and unite people. He dreamed of a place where classical music was accessible to all, regardless of background, and young talent could be nurtured and developed. This dream was tragically cut short in 2008, just as he took the first steps to make it a reality.
Continuing the Legacy
Inspired by his unwavering commitment to service and community, Olusegun's family established The OK Foundation to continue his work. Today, the Foundation provides a range of programmes that reflect his values:
-
Music: From African drumming workshops to vibrant choirs, we offer opportunities for people of all ages to experience the joy of music.
-
Food: Our Tottenham Food Hub provides nourishment and support, bringing people together through shared meals, just as Olusegun did.
-
Community: We foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where people can connect, learn, and grow together.
